Here at Echo Video we find ourselves attending quite a few events throughout the year. They can range from live music acts right through to conferences, seminars, exhibitions and staff parties. We’ve been working with BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT for a number of years and have produced a huge range of content for them. On this occasion, BCS were holding an event for students about how to stand out in the graduate job market and they asked us to produce a promo for them to use to market future events. This event, like many others, had many different aspects for us to film. We shot footage of the venue and people arriving, the key note speaker, vox pops with participants and finally GVs of networking after the event.

Due to the young audience we wanted to make it very energetic and very bold in order to keep the attention of the viewer. To achieve this we used some techniques that we wouldn’t normally look to utilise at an event like this. We filmed slow-motion content, sped up camera movements, incorporated jump cuts. During the post-production process of this video we pulled out key moments from the talk to emphasise,  gave it a film like grade and produced some motion graphics that jump out at the viewer. To top all this off we used a very fast rock track to help carry the video and inject further pace. BCS were thrilled with the outcome and it really helped them engage with a larger audience.
